Calendar Girls rehearsals are underway. We have a cast of 12 actors, with six female leads. We welcome some new faces to the stage and others who have rejoined the repertory club after years away from the limelight.

The play follows the story of six ‘ordinary’ women who hail from different backgrounds and are friends through their local Women’s Institute. When one of the members, Annie, loses her husband to leukaemia, the ladies decide to raise money for a new settee for the cancer wing waiting room. Realising that flesh sells, the women decide to do the unconventional- bare all on a calendar. As media interest snowballs, the girls find themselves exposed in ways they never imagined.
Based on a true story, this play is a lot of fun, while also exploring serious themes such as love, loss and friendship.
